Frequently Asked Questions

How long until I receive my biopsy results?

Biopsy results depend on the lab that your insurance company requires that we send to but on average it takes about 10 days. This is typically expedited for melanoma.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

We participate with most major insurance plans and dermatology services are a covered service. For more information about insurance and what to expect, we recommend visiting our insurance overview page here.

Is there anything that I need to do to prepare for my appointment?

If you’ve seen another dermatologist for the same issue, we ask that you have a copy of your medical records sent to our office a couple days ahead of your appointment.

Do you provide any discounts to self pay patients?

We will do our best to fit our services within your budget but we are limited by our contracts with insurance companies in terms of the discounts we can provide.

Are any cosmetic services covered by insurance?

As a rule, cosmetic or elective services are not covered by insurance benefits. There are some situations where a service, such as Acne treatment is both cosmetic and medical and would be covered by insurance. If you're not sure, it's always best to speak directly with your insurance.
